John "Jack" A. Murphy 1933 - 2004

John "Jack" A. Murphy, 70, Minot, died Thursday in a Minot hospital.

He was born March 8, 1933, in Minot, ND to Eugene and Velma (Sloan) Murphy. He was reared and educated in Haynes, North Dakota, graduating as Valedictorian from Haynes High School. Following graduation, he moved to Ogden, Utah, where he worked as a roofer for 16 years. He later returned to Minot, where throughout his years, he worked for Mowbray & Sons, Greenberg Roofing, Northwest Building Improvements and Jessen Roofing. He retired in the mid 1990's.

John was a member of the Eagles Club, Minot.

Survivors: siblings, Eugene, Velva, Mary (Tom) Ketelle and Rose (Stanley) Bjelland, all of Las Vegas, Dennis Murphy, Wilson, TX, Michael Murphy, Minot, Timothy Murphy, Bismarck, Janet Murphy and James (Sandy) Murphy, all of Minot and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Eleanor Murphy, sister, Patricia Francis and brother, Thomas Murphy.

Funeral Service: Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation: Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vigil Prayer service on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
