Madonna Mueller 1924 - 2004

Madonna Mueller, 79, 2153 First Ave. SW, Minot, ND, died Monday, June 7, 2004, in a Minot Medical Center.

She attended Deering High School, where she played basketball, and graduated in 1942. She attended Minot Business College for one year and then went to work at First National Bank as a bookkeeper and later as a teller.

On January 10, 1946, she married Richard Mueller at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. They lived in Minot where she worked at Lloyd's Construction before moving to Great Falls, Montana for one year before moving to Shelby, Montana, where she worked at Doran Insurance and later the Shelby Credit Union. She then started her career with Northwestern Bell in 1959 and moved to Minot in 1962 and was promoted to chief operator in Grafton in 1971. In 1973, they moved to Jamestown where she was the chief operator. In December of 1981, she moved with her sister, Pat Brevig in Minot and she retired in March of 1982. She lived with her sister until Pat died on June 3 of this year.

"Madonna's passion was supporting her family's activities. She was a most ardent fan and enjoyed attending the events and programs of her grandchildren. Her most precious times were the many gatherings of family for holidays and special occasions; predominant among them was the annual Mueller Reunion, held each year at either Tim, Tom or Fred's. Her specialty in the competitions was 'Back Street Bridge.' Grandma Donna's and Aunt Pat's home served as a welcome mat for many tournaments and great times. A diehard fan of the New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers she enjoyed following their seasons with her sons.
A tribute to Madonna was her lifelong support of catholic education and specifically Bishop Ryan High School.

Madonna was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. She was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for over 35 years.

Madonna will be sorely missed by all she left behind including her three sons, Tim (Glenna) Mueller, Bismarck, Tom (Ann) Mueller, Minot, and Fred (Mary) Mueller, Minot; eight grandchildren, Rebecca (Josh) Gallion, Joseph Mueller, Kimberly Mueller, Michael (Krista) and Marissa Mueller, Stephanie, Anthony and Matthew Mueller; one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Cecelia Gallion.
