Victoria M. Moore 1933 - 2004

Victoria M. Moore, 71, Minot, died Tuesday, September 7, 2004, in a Minot nursing home.

Victoria was born May 24, 1933, in McKenzie County, ND, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Deserly. She attended school at Flandreau, South Dakota, and graduated from high school there in 1951. She attended nursing school in Washington State and beauty school in Bismarck. As a young woman she enjoyed rodeos and was in barrel racing.

In December of 1957 she married Leroy Walter. They later divorced. She spent around 14 years living in Washington State before returning to North Dakota. She married Robert Moore on October 20, 1977 in Sloan, Iowa.

Victoria spent many hours playing her guitar and violin. She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot.

Survivors: Husband, Robert, Minot; sons, Ronald Walter, Fargo, Andy Walter, Billings, MT, Richard Walter, Auburn, WA, and Frank Walter, Tacoma, WA; daughter, Chloe Cawley, Graham, WA; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers, Clarence Deserly, Ross, and Russel Deserly, New Town; sisters, Blanche Galusha, Williston, and Dorothy Weiss, Arlington, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward and Vernon Deserly; sister, Alma Koukol and an infant sister, Grace.

Funeral Mass: Monday, September 13, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation and Vigil Prayer Service: Visitation will be Sunday, from noon to 5:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service Sunday at 5:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Monday at 2:00 p.m., at Riverview Cemetery, New Town, ND.
