Monson • 1924 - 2003 Elaine D. "Tiny" Monson, 79, Minot, formerly of Balfour, ND, died Monday, December 22, 2003, in a Minot nursing home. She was born August 22, 1924, in Berwick, ND, to Engvald and Clara (Anderson) Jelsing. She attended country schools in the Berwick area. On May 22, 1943, she married Arthur H. Monson in Havre, MT. The couple made their home on a farm near Balfour, ND. Her husband, Art, preceded her in death in October of 1977. Elaine remained on the farm until moving to Minot in the early 1980's. Elaine was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cake decorating and crafts. Survivors: three brothers, Wayne (Judy) Jelsing, Rugby, ND, NoDean (Deanna) Jelsing, Grand Forks, ND, and Douglas Jelsing, Rugby; three sisters, LaVern (Harley) Halseth, Minot, Phyllis (Roger) Howe, Velva, and Janice (Marvin) Ave, Willows, CA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service: Monday, December 29, 2003, 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. Visitation: Sunday, December 28, 2003, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home.
