Ival B. Mogren, 78, Kenmare, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 in his home.

Ival Burdell Levi Mogren was born to Isedore and Lillian (Nelson) Mogren on June 14, 1931 in Kenmare, ND. He was baptized and confirmed in the Elmdale Lutheran Church, Niobe, ND. Ival received his elementary education in rural schools and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1949.

On November 17, 1950, he was united in marriage to Melba Ruth Schryver in Kenmare. They farmed west of Kenmare until March of 1959, when they moved into Kenmare. At that time, they purchased Mag's Service Station from Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Martinsen and ran it is Ival's Standard. In 1961, they built a new Standard Oil Station on that location. He worked as a mechanic for Enget Implement in Powers Lake, ND from 1964-1965, while continuing to farm west of Kenmare. In 1974, they built a new home on their farm and moved from Kenmare. After retirement from farming, Ival enjoyed restoring antique tractors. He was so proud of the Saler cattle he raised and sold as IBM Salers.

Ival loved a good joke and loved to tell a good story and could remember stories forever.
Grandpa Ival had affectionate nicknames for all his grandchildren.
