Myrtle Moe 1920 - 2005


Myrtle Moe, 84, Fargo, and formerly of Minot, ND, died Monday, September 5, 2005, at her residence.

Myrtle L. Clauson was born on December 8, 1920, in Williston, North Dakota. She was the youngest of nine children. She was raised and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School.

Following her graduation from high school, she worked as a Lab Technician at the ND State Tuberculosis Sanitarium, San Haven, at Dunseith, ND.

Myrtle then married Walter Moe in August of 1950 in Williston. They then made their home in Minot, where he was employed by the US Postal Service as a Window Clerk. Together they raised their son, Steve. Walter passed away on May 26, 1985.

She was a member of First Assembly of God in Minot and its prayer groups.

Surviving family includes: son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Peggy Moe, Fargo;
grandchildren, Dena Shipley-Lamont and her husband, Michael, Houston, TX, and John Shipley, Fargo; great-granddaughters, Sophia, Nadia, and Daria Lamont; sister, Gladys Vasso and her husband, Clifton, Reno, NV; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; and brothers, Obert and James Clauson; sisters, Ida Kluken, Cora Schelesky, and Mildred Peterson; and two infant sisters.

Funeral: Thursday, September 8, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, Minot, ND.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Wednesday from 2 until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the First Assembly of God Church.
