Pauline (Niki) Wegmiller Mock, 88, Minot, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Niki was born in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada on September 30, 1920, the daughter of Charles F. and Grace A. (Meridith) Wegmiller. She was raised in St. John, ND, and graduated from St. John High School in 1938. She moved to Minot in 1939, then to Seattle in 1942, where she worked for a doctor until joining the Women's Army Corps in 1944 and 1945 during WWII.

She traveled with an Army Air Force exhibit called "Shot from the Sky" which displayed captured enemy equipment to the public and sold war bonds to fund World War II. Niki returned home in 1946.

On June 1, 1946, Niki married Allen Mock in Glasgow, MT. They lived in Minot, where she worked at Medical Arts Clinic as a receptionist from 1963 to 1982. Allen died in 1992 and she continued to live in Minot until her death.

Niki was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Minot, the American Legion, the Medical Arts Clinic retiree group and a birthday club. She was also an avid gardener.

Over the years Al and Niki had dogs that they treated as the children that they never had.

She is survived by one nephew and two nieces, and her special friends, who she adopted as her family, Geri and Noel Hanson, Williston, and their son, David and his family, Tina, Baylee and Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Harold Wegmiller.

Memorial service will be on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND

Visitation: Just prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
