Raymond G. Misek 1921 - 2006 He was born on February 11, 1921, in Rothbury, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Mary (Hain) Misek. He grew up doing all the things farm children do. On September 2, 1942, Uncle Sam called and Ray spent the next four years, four months, and four days in the Army serving his country during World War II. After basic training, he spent the next eighteen months on Attu in the Aleutian Islands. A furlough and he was off to the European Theater, spending time in Germany, France, and Belgium. Upon his honorable discharge from the United States Army on January 4, 1946, he spent time with his Aunt and Uncle in Berwyn, IL, where he met his wife to be Mary Deibler. They were married in Chicago Temple on February 1, 1947. In March of 1949, right after the big blizzard, they moved to Granville, ND, which had been his home for most of the past 59 plus years. Ray had been involved in all the children's school and 4-H activities, and spent several years as a 4-H leader. He was a life member of the Granville American Legion Post #155, was in his 61 year. Ray was an avid deer hunter, although he had come home a few times empty-handed. He also liked to fish, travel, and spend time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors: wife, Mary, Granville; sons, Alan Misek, Fargo, ND, Kevin (LaRee) Misek, Langdon, ND, Stanley (Angela) Misek, Mercer, ND, Gailen (Dorothy) Misek, North Platte, NE, and Frank (Heather) Misek, Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada; daughters, Susan (Lloyd) Danielson, Baker City, OR, and Jill (Steve) Huizinga, Comstock Park, MI; grandchildren; Brent and Brian Danielson, Kristi, Heather, and Melissa Misek, Jeremy Misek, Sarah and Lacey Misek and Grace and Chase Misek; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Amber and Amanda Huizinga; brother, Joseph Misek, Comstock Park, MI; sisters, Eleanor Deyman, Grand Rapids, MI, Mae Greinke, Montague, MI, and Josephine (Ivan) Cederquist, Shelby, MI. Ray was preceded in death by his grandson, Derek Misek, parents,
