Marvin Peter Miller • 1958 - 2011 He was born on November 6, 1958 in Minot, ND, a son of Peter F. and Theresa B. (Burckhard) Miller. He grew up on the family farm north of Bergen, ND, and graduated from Karlsruhe High School in 1977. He then attended Valley City State University. He married Ramona Wald on June 30, 1978 in Karlsruhe, ND. The family lived on the family farm until 1991, when they moved to Velva. Marvin farmed until 2000. He went to work at Wal-Mart on the night crew in 1992. He was a member of the Odin Township Board of Directors for many years. He was on the McHenry County Weed Board. He served on the Karlsruhe School Board and was a school bus driver for Karlsruhe. He was currently working for Wal-Mart and for the Souris Basin Transportation bus service in the city of Velva. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe and was currently a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Velva. Marvin was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved Fantasy Football. He is survived by his wife, Mona and their three children, Michael Miller of Minot, Jennifer Miller and her fiancé Dave Kramer of Velva, and Jonathan Miller of Balfour; brothers, Ronald (Jean) Miller of Cedar Rapids, IA, Richard (Kelly) Miller of Voltaire ND, and Donald (Diane) Miller of Minot; sisters, Karen (William) Watson of Sun City AZ, Janice (Pat) Miller of Minot, Marilyn (Marlin) Schiele of Minot, and Sherrie (Bruce) Leier of Minot; sisters in law, Audrey Engelhard of Minot, Mildred (Charlie) Bartsch of Minot, Lindamarie (Lester) Spaulding of Washington, D.C., Sandy (Carl) Valensky of Waterford, MI, and Gerri Wald of Sioux Falls, SD; brothers, Don (Bertha) Wald of Minot, Robert (Carolyn) Wald of Austin, TX, and Brian (Bonnie) Wald of Minot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Theresa Miller; his mother and father in law, Kathryn and Ambrose Wald; his sister in law Valerie Wald; and his brothers in law, Tim Wald and Elmer Engelhard. Funeral: Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva, ND. Vigil Prayer Service: Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Service Participants: Father James Gross and Father Joseph Senger, Celebrants of the Liturgies Music: Teresa Moser-Boehm, organist Final Resting Place: Rosehill Memorial Park ~ Minot, North Dakota Following the fellowship at the church, the family and friends will proceed to Rosehill Memorial Park for the graveside services. Anyone not attending the graveside service is invited to the Velva City Hall. Once the graveside services are completed, the family will return to the Velva City Hall for a time of fellowship.
