Marilyn Annette Miller, 65, Minot, died Sunday, November 6, 2011 in an Underwood, ND nursing home
She was born on August 19, 1946, in Minot, ND a daughter of Irving and Dora (Hoiland) Johnson. She was raised on the family farm near Glenburn and Deering , ND. She was baptized, confirmed and was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Deering. She attended the Grilley School in grades one through eight and then attended Glenburn High School. The family moved to Velva, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1964. She attended Minot Business College and worked at Trinity Hospital as a dietary aid. She then became employed in the dining hall at Minot Air Force Base, where she worked for many years.
Marilyn was currently a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Minot. She was a member of Weight Watchers and participated in the Prairie Rose Games. She enjoyed collecting eggs and Santas, walking outdoors, stamping, scrapbooking, and ethnic cooking and enjoyed the Hostfest, especially Charlie Pride. She never forgot her niece’s and nephew’s birthdays.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, Mark (Marcell) Johnson of Minot; sisters, Arlyce (Richard) Holtz of Minot and Marcia (Faron) Hettich of Elgin, ND; nieces, Trisha, Angela, Jennifer and Brooklyn; nephews, Brett and Jordan; great nieces, Amanda and Alyssa; great nephew, Dace; special friend, Donald Fischer; aunts, Joyce (Rod) Shuman, Mabel Hoiland and Morgan Simonson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Orlynn Johnson and nephews, Edward Johnson and Bradley Holtz.
Funeral: Friday, November 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot.
Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
