Gary Miller • 1947 - 2010 Gary Lee Miller was born May 27, 1947, in Minot, ND. He was one of 11 children born to Fred and Elna (Jensen) Miller. He was raised and educated in Velva and was baptized and confirmed at Oak Valley Lutheran Church. Gary married Sherry L. Schalesky December 2, 1965, in Sawyer. They made their home in Sawyer. He had worked for Wholesale Supply and Magic City Beverage in Minot and later owned and operated the Hilltop Bar in Sawyer. He was a volunteer member of the Sawyer Fire Department for over 35 years and had been a member of the Sawyer City Council for over 10 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and basketball. He also loved hunting, wood working and attending auctions. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching their sporting events. His loving family includes: wife of 44 years, Sherry, Sawyer; daughters, Paula (Roger) Kraft, Sawyer, and Kammy Brothers, Asheboro, NC; son, Dion (Brenda) Miller, Minot; grandchildren, Tyler (Heather) Marten, Kaylie Marten, Garrett Kraft, Madilyn Kraft, Brianna Brothers, Brittany Brothers, and R.J. Brothers, great-grandchildren, Oscar Paul Marten, Makenna Marie Duvall, and Colin Bryar Brothers; step grandchildren, Sara Marten and Josh Marten; brothers, Gordon Miller, Hamilton, MT, Virgil (Irene) Miller, Velva, Ronnie (Peggy) Miller, Graham, WA, Dale (Jeanne) Miller, Harvey, and Alden Miller, Sawyer; sisters, Betty (Danny) Kelner, Velva, Donna Brekke, Helena, MT, and Audrey Miller, Corte Madera, CA; sisters-in-law, DeeAnna Miller, Lewiston, ID, and Karin (Clay) Trogdon, Asheboro, NC; brothers-in-law, Dana (Deb) Schalesky, Garden City, KS, Marty (Carol) Schalesky, Minot, and Mark (Joan) Schalesky, Asheboro, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
