Gertrude Madelin "Gert"
Miller • 1920 - 2004 Gertrude Magdelin "Gert" Miller, 84, Donnybrook, died Thursday, September 9, 2004, in her home. Gertrude was born February 25, 1920, on the family farm north of Drake, ND, the daughter to John and Anna (Brunner) Ewert. She was raised in Drake and graduated from Drake High School. On April 5, 1948, Gertrude married Francis J. "Fritz" Miller in Minot. They lived and raised their family in Greenbush Township, north of Donnybrook, ND. Francis died May 2, 2002. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, and the Confraternity of Christian Mother's. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Clarence McCormack Post #195, all of Donnybrook. Gert was always there to lend a hand on the farm, and help in the community where needed. Survivors: Children, Michael (Deb) Miller and Mary Ann (Danny) Michel, all of Donnybrook, and Mary Teresa Quigley, Dickinson; six grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Schock, Jennifer Quigley, Valerie (Kevin) Thingelstad, Christopher Michel, Corey and Shawn Miller; four great-grandchildren, Kali and Collin Schock, Brianna Verhonich, McKenzie Thingelstad; brothers, John (Glendora) Ewert, Drake, and Mike Ewert, Harvey; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. "Fritz" Miller; her parents, John and Anna Ewert; brothers, Frank, Matt, Andrew and Joe Ewert; sisters, Katie Ewert, Frances Huso, Regina Martwick. Funeral: Saturday, September 11, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Donnybrook. Visitation and vigil prayer service: At Gert's request there will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Donnybrook. Burial: Saturday at 12:30 p.m., at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Donnybrook, ND.
