Duane Miller • 1959 - 2006 Duane Miller, 46, Tolley, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 in a Minot hospital, from injuries resulting from a fall. Duane was born January 14, 1959, the son of Andy Miller and June (Johnson) Miller O'Clair, in Mohall, ND. He was reared and educated in the Tolley area, graduating from Tolley High School in 1978. On June 6, 1978, Duane enlisted into the US Army. He proudly served his country, receiving the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon, good conduct medal, air assault badge and the parachutist badge. He was honorably discharged June 4, 1982. Following his discharge, he lived in various locations in the United States, before moving back to Tolley. While in Tolley, Duane worked for the Renville Elevator, and also helped out area farmers. He was employed by the elevator at the time of his death. Duane enjoyed being with friends, and being a friend. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Tolley and the Tolley Fire Department. He is survived by: Mother, June O'Clair, Cottonwood, AZ; son, Tyler Shrupp, Mohall, ND; siblings, Jerry (Linda) Miller, Berthold, ND; Sandra (Gaynard) Schwietzer, Berthold, ND; Rodney (Karen) Miller, Bismarck, ND; Debra (Eugene) Knutson, Kenmare, ND; Scott (Linda) O'Clair, Klamath Falls, OR. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Duane was preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation: Sunday, January, 15, 2006 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND Funeral Service: Monday, January 16, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley, ND.
