Blanche Miller 1910 - 2010 Blanche McDaniel was born on July 25, 1910, a daughter of James and Bessie (Parkhurst) McDaniel, on the family farm in Granville Township, ND. She was raised and educated in Granville, graduating from Granville High School in 1928. She furthered her education, graduating from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Minot. On October 29, 1931, Blanche was united in marriage to Russell C. Miller. They lived and farmed near Granville. Blanche was a Registered Nurse and was called when needed for help delivering babies or caring for the ill. She also volunteered as a 4-H leader and nurse for several years. Blanche was very active in the Granville community. She was a member of the Hope Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school and worked with the Women’s Society. She was also a member of the Granville Senior Citizens, and at the age of 97, was Grand Marshall at the Granville Centennial parade in 2007. She loved people and was always willing to help others. Blanche enjoyed entertaining and the welcome mat was always out at her home, especially to those who did not have any family nearby. She spent years working on family genealogy and writing family history to share with members of her family. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of joy in her life—she was definitely the matriarch of the family and her strength and encouragement will be missed. She went home to be with her Lord, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Those who shared in her life: Children: Sharon M. (Wally) Vance, Sun City West, AZ; Myrna J.
