Donald L. Miller, 74, Minot, ND, formerly of Spokane, WA, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, in a Minot nursing home.

Donald Lee Miller was born August 2, 1932, the son of Henry and Ann (Schultz) Miller in Minot, ND. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Henry and Ella Seiferts in the Norwich, ND, area. He attended Surrey High School.

Don enlisted in the United States Navy June 19, 1950. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged June 13, 1953.

Donald married Margaret E. Olson April 17, 1955, in Granville, ND. They made their home in Minot, where he was employed by the US Government Motorpool Department as a mechanic. They resided in Minot until the late 1960's when he was transferred to Spokane, WA. He retired in 1983. In June of 2006, they moved back to North Dakota and lived in Velva for a short time. Margaret passed away November 20, 2006. He has resided in Minot since the time of her death.

He was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Spokane, WA.

He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, wood cutting, and visiting various pawn shops. He had a good sense of humor as he loved to give his nieces and nephews a hard time and enjoyed joking with them. He was quite a storyteller.

Surviving family includes: brother, Hank of Sacramento, CA; aunts, Ruth Jones of Sparks, NV and Grace Terry of Freemont, CA; brothers-in-law, Doran Hanson, Granville; Carl (Melba) Olson, Velva; sister-in-law, Sharon Olson, Norwich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Margaret.

Funeral: Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Chapel, Minot.

Interment: Granville Community Cemetery, Granville, ND.

Visitation: Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church Handicapped Fund, Granville.
