Nancy Mikkelson • 1948 - 2008 Nancy Susan Bonebrake was born January 10, 1948, a daughter of William and Doris (Snyder) Bonebrake in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1966. She then attended Minot State College and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work in 1970. She later received a Master's degree in English from Minot State and a Master's Degree in Business from Eastern Michigan University. Nancy was married to LaVerne Mikkelson in 1969. From this union, three sons were born, Chad, Brock and Dirk. They were later divorced. She then resided in Minot, until 1991, when she moved to Fargo, ND, where she was a substitute teacher with the Fargo School District. She was a member of the Christian Women's Club and was a former member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot. She enjoyed spending time with her sons, and granddaughters. She had a passion for life. She loved to stay busy whether it was gardening, canning, reading, water skiing, crafting, or quilting. She was a talented seamstress. Her loving family includes: sons, L. Chad Mikkelson, Brock Mikkelson (Taylor Simensen), and Dirk (Amber) Mikkelson, all of Minot; granddaughters, Amy and Abigail Mikkelson; brother, Keith Bonebrake, Mesa, AZ; special friend/companion, Loren Lothspeich, Fargo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sally Christensen. Memorial Service: Friday, June 27, 2008, at noon at
