Gladys I. Mikkelson 1916 - 2010 Gladys I. Peterson was born on July 19, 1916, a daughter of Erick and Tina Peterson in Douglas, ND. She was raised and educated in Douglas, graduating from Douglas High School. On September 18, 1940, Gladys was united in marriage to Harry M. Mikkelson in Minot. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in Freedom and in Torning Townships, Ward County, south of Minot. In 1967, they moved into Minot. Harry died May 31, 1995. Following his death, Gladys continued to live in Minot. Gladys was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Loyal Order of the Moose and the Eagles Aerie, all of Minot and a former member of the Fron Lutheran Church, southwest of Minot. Surviving relatives include: Sons: Ronald Mikkelson, Madison, WI, Roger (Debbie) Mikkelson, Denver, CO; daughter Gloria Stewart, Minot: 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jeanette Parker, Rapid City, SD, Leone Pugh, AZ, Helen Pouliot, Everett, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, son Gary, grandson Michael, sister Edna Larson, brothers Clarence and Telmer.
