Alan Michel 1950 - 2011 Alan Dean Michel was born on February 11, 1950, a son of Glenn and Dolores (O’Clair) Michel in Kenmare, ND. He was raised and educated in Donnybrook, graduating from Donnybrook High School in 1968. On June 10, 1970, Alan was drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, and was honorably discharged on December 16, 1971. Following his discharge, Alan was employed at Great Plains Supply in Berthold for several years. He was an excellent carpenter, working on many family and local projects. Alan was an avid sports participant and loyal fan, especially Class B Basketball, Volleyball and Rec-softball. He compiled scrapbooks of all the games from his high school years to present.
He was a member of United Methodist Church, Donnybrook, ND and the Clarence McCormick American Legion Post #195, Donnybrook, ND. Alan is survived by: Mother Dolores Michel, Donnybrook; Sisters Barbara (Marshall) Johnson, Donnybrook, Connie Zieske, Minot; brother: Danny (Mary Ann) Michel, Ronnie (Sandy) Michel, both of Donnybrook; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn Michel, and a brother-in-law John Zieske.
