Elizabeth M. "Moudeen" Meyer• 1933- 2010

Elizabeth Margaret  “Moudeen”  Meyer, 77, Minot , passed away Friday, August 20, 2010, in a Minot nursing home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on January 29, 1933 in Minot, ND, a daughter of George and Mary (Sailer) Pritschet.  She was raised on the family farm in Kirkelie Township of Ward County, near Foxholm, ND.  She attended several area schools, completing her last two years at St. Leo’s High school in Minot, graduating in 1950.  She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital while in high school and then worked for a time at Bridgeman Creamery.

On January 15, 1955, she married Lawrence Meyer in Foxholm, ND.  The couple lived in Minot where they managed the Dakota Apartments before she went to work for Minot Sash and Door. 

She was a sports fan at heart, cheering on her favorite team, the Bishop Ryan Lions.   She enjoyed Notre Dame football and her beloved Minnesota Twins.  She and Lawrence were strong supporters of all of the activities that their children were involved in and continued this support on to their grandchildren.  She liked to crochet and blessed each child and grandchild with an afaghan.  Her faith was very important to her.  She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.  She volunteered at the Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry for many years.  She enjoyed her special time with her morning coffee group at the mall.   She was a caretaker to all and always willing to give a helping hand.  The memory of our mother and grandmother’s love and kindness will live on forever.

Survivors:  husband, Lawrence, Minot, ND; daughter, Renee (Kent) Block, Minot; sons, Ron (Linda) Meyer, Burlington, CO, Randy (Nancy) Meyer, Minot, and Larry (special friend Penny Johnson), Minot; grandchildren,  Matthew Meyer, Alexandra Meyer, Jesse Block, Beth Block, Lance (Veronica) Meyer, Mitchell (Kellie) Meyer, Brady Meyer, Sarah (special friend David Lewis) Meyer and  Emily Meyer; great granddaughters, Abigail Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis; sisters in law; Dorothy Pritschet, Minot, Barbara Pritschet, Elkhart, IN, and Mildred Pritschet, Brainerd, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, George; brothers, Andrew, Leo, Aloys “Bill”, Richard, Francis “Frank”, Bernard and John “Jack”  Pritschet; sisters, Ann Roles, Mary Stammen, Martha Leggate and Rosa Loraas.

Funeral:  Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Vigil Prayer Service:  Monday, August 23, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation:  Monday, August 23, 2010 from noon until 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND and at the church on Monday evening.

Burial:  St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxholm, ND.
