Victor Emilo Mercado PhotoVictor Emilio Mercado, 18, of Minot and Schertz, TX, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 in a Minot hospital.

Victor was born August 8, 1990 at Sacramento, CA, to Luis and Mary (Renner) Mercado. Victor moved to Minot Air Force Base with his parents in July of 1991. He attended Dakota Elementary.

In 1999, the family moved into Minot, where he attended Longfellow Elementary, Erik Ramstad, Central Campus and he graduated from Minot High School in 2007. Victor lived in Schertz, TX, but had recently returned to Minot to be near his friends.

Victor loved music and he excelled at Dance, Dance Revolution (DDR). He enjoyed being around people and loved his family and his many friends. He celebrated life and brought laughter and happiness to the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed, and will never be forgotten.

Those who shared in his life, Parents, Luis and Mary Mercado, Schertz, TX; brothers, Andre Mercado, Biloxi, MS, and Jayme Mercado, Bellevue, WA; maternal grandparents, Ted and Marie Renner, Dickinson, ND; paternal grandmother, Sara Saldana`, Rio Pierdras, Puerto Rico; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and Victor's dear friend, Mara Howard, Minot.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation and prayer service: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register, Tuesday, (today) June 23, 2009 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., both at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Burial: A private burial will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be donated to a charity of the donor's choice in loving memory of Victor.
