Leontine Mello • 1926 - 2011 Leontine Macedo was born on May 5, 1926, a daughter Of Helen Macedo in New Bedford, Mass., She was raised and educated in New Bedford. On August 31, 1946, Leontine was united in marriage to Jose Mello. They made their home in New Bedford, where Leontine worked as a nurse’s assistant. Jose died in September of 1976. Leontine remained in New Bedford until November of 2009, when she moved to Minot, ND to be closer to her only son Jim and his family. She is survived by: Son Jim (Judie) Mello; two grandchildren: Jayme (Jordan) Thompson, Jimmy (Lindsey) Mello, all of Minot; three step-grandchildren: Wendy (Jerry) Eggert, Maria (Dan) Leidholt, Wade DeLorme; four great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren: A private burial will take place at the St. John’s Cemetery, New Bedford, Mass.
