Art Meller • 1907 - 2010 Art was born July 9, 1907 on the family farm, north of Dogden Butte, ND, to Robert and Amolia (Rader) Meller. He was raised in that area and attended country school through the eighth grade. Art lived and farmed his entire life in the Butte area. He also worked in the coal mines for numerous years. In the 1970’s he retired from farming and moved into Butte. He lived in Butte until 2004, when he moved to Minot. Art was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kongsberg, ND. He served as the Butte Township Treasurer for a number of years, and was a member of the Drake Threshing Association. In his younger days he played trumpet in a local dance band. Those who shared in his life, Niece, Bernice Hansen, Minot; nephews, Reuben Meller, Garland, TX and Alvin Meller, Harrison, TN; numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Art was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Sewald, Raymond and Harold Meller. Funeral: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, February 16, 2010, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Butte Cemetery, Butte, ND, in the spring. Officiating Clergy: Rev.
