Audrey Olson Meier 1942 - 2011

Audrey Olson Meier PhotoAudrey Olson Meier, 68, Minot, died Friday, April 15, 2011 in her home after a battle with cancer.

Audrey Olson was born on May 17, 1942, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Eva (Dexheimer) Olson in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in the Garrison area.

On August 31, 1959, Audrey was united in marriage to Herman Joseph Meier at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Makoti, ND. After spending several years in road construction, they made their home in Harvey, ND, until 1969, when they moved to Minot, ND, where they raised three daughters.

Audrey was a wonderful mother and housewife. She volunteered many years at the gift shop, as well as other various groups and activities at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, as well as dedicating many hours to the Fatima traveling statue.

Herman and Audrey enjoyed traveling whether it was traveling on the many Minot Public Schools activities bus driven by Herman, going on a family vacation every year, or taking pilgrimages around the world. Friends and family meant everything to her. Not only being a wonderful mother, she took pride in being a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother and friend.  

Surviving relatives:
            Husband of 51 years, Herman, Minot; daughters: Dawn (Roger) Friedt, Mott, ND; Kristi (Troy) Bertsch, all of Minot; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;  Son-in-law: David Ross, Roseville, MN
 
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Geralyn Ross, an infant son and an infant sister Elizabeth Olson..

Visitation:  Monday, April 18, 2011 from noon until 5 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot and from 6-7 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot

Vigil Prayer Service:  Monday, April 18, 2011 at 7 pm at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot

Mass of Christian Burial:  Tuesday, April 19, 2011, 2:00 pm at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot

Burial:  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot

Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the fellowship hall of the church.

The Meier family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. May God bless the memory of Audrey.
