Betty M. McQueen 1928 - 2009

Betty McQueen PhotoBetty M. McQueen, 81, Minot, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 in a Minot hospital.

Betty Wilson was born August 19, 1928 in Wisconsin, to George and Jewell (Klier) Wilson.  She was raised and educated in Lewiston, Idaho. 

On July 28, 1946, Betty married William McQueen at Bremerton, WA.  Following their marriage they made their home in the Seattle area, where she was employed at Boeing.
In 1970 her husband passed away in a house fire.  Betty moved to Minot in 1971.  While in Minot she worked at Anderson D&S Bootery, and Olson’s Clothing.  From 1979 to 1981 she worked at the Polar Cub Restaurant in Nome, Alaska.  She then returned to North Dakota, where she since had lived.

Betty was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot.  She was a hard-worker, and a very loving and giving person.  She was a remarkable woman.

Those who shared in her life,  Cousin, George Tobin, and her angel, GG Hernandez Brandt, both Minot, who both helped care for Betty, these last several years. grandchildren, Rebecca McQueen, Dallas, TX, Amber Hansen and Amy Davis, both of Minot;  great-grandchildren, Kymberly and McKenzie Hansen, and Hunter Davis;  brothers, George “JR” and Clinton Wilson, both of Lewiston, ID; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William; two sons, William P. and Michael K. McQueen; sisters, Lois Gillis and Eileen Hunter; brothers, Wayne and Bernard Wilson.

Funeral:  Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 12:00 p.m., at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation:  Wednesday, November 18, 2009, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Burial:  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
