Arlene McNally • 1946 - 2011

Arlene McNally, 64, Minot, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Arlene Wehrman was born on June 22, 1946 in Crosby, ND to G.F. (Mick)and Jeanette (Grindeland) Wehrman. She was raised on the family farm near Fortuna,ND. She attended school in Fortuna and graduated from Crosby High School in 1964. She attended Minot State for 2 years where she was a
member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She married Pat McNally in Minot on April 22, 1967. While living in Garrison, ND she worked at Garrison State Bank. Pat and Arlene moved to Minot in 1973. She worked for a short time at First Western Bank, followed by a 26 year career with the City of Minot working in the Water Department and at the Minot International Airport, retiring on January 31, 2006.

Arlene was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Minot. She was involved in the Confraternity of Christian Women, served as a greeter and on the Welcoming Committee. Arlene was an avid supporter of Bishop Ryan High School, Minot State University, and Minot High School athletic
teams. She was a long-time member of the MSU Beaver Boosters. She also volunteered for the Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Arlene loved to travel and shop. She planned many family vacations, accompanied friends and family to various places, and coordinated short road trips with friends including occasional visits to casinos and shopping malls.

Arlene enjoyed attending events involving her extended family. Her relationships with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren were important to her. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children  and grandchildren. She was always present at their activities and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick of Minot; daughter, Tami McNally of Minot; sons, Chad McNally of Minot and his children KaSara Rudolph and Shaley and Regan McNally and Ryan (Denbea) McNally of Williston, ND and their child Logen McNally;  brother, Allan Wehrman of Ambrose, ND; sisters and brothers in law, Wanda Wehrman of Fortuna, ND,  Mary Ann Jones of Dixon, IL, Jack (Kay) McNally of Bixby, OK, Dick (Mary Lee) McNally of Mukwonago, WI, and Mike (Jan) McNally of Lisbon, ND.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dennis Wehrman.

Funeral:  Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Vigil Prayer Service:  Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation:  Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice, the Minot State University McNally Athletic Scholarship or to the donor’s choice.
