Harold Lee McLarnon 1908 - 2008 Harold was born on January 14, 1908 in Maryville, MO., the son of George A. and Annabelle (Crandall) McLarnon. He moved to Terry, MT, in 1918 and attended school there. At the age of 18, he started his career in the electric power industry working for Terry Power Company and Radio at Terry, MT. In 1927, the electric company was sold to Montana Dakota Power Co. and he continued working for them. He worked as chief clerk in various locals, and Division Manager in the Mobridge, SD and Kenmare, ND, divisions. He married Margaret Loraine Plath, on September 23, 1927, at Terry, MT. The couple had two children. She died November 16, 1957. Harold was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, was a former member of the Kenmare Lion's Club, The Kenmare Association of Commerce, The Kenmare Country Club, Masonic Lodge and served on the Kenmare School Board. On October 1, 1960, Harold and Olga Evelyn Larson were married in Minot, ND. She died January 5, 1982. He retired in February of 1973 after 46 years in the electric power business. Even after being retired 35 years, he always had an interest in MDU"S progress. After his retirement he and Evelyn spent their winters in the southern states. Golfing became their favorite pastime. He kept busy working part time at golf courses in AZ, selling
golf cars for a friend, and volunteering his time at the local
country club donating maintenance work. He managed to get five
holes-in-one during lifetime. Memorial Service: A private family service will be held on Monday, June16, 2008 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Chapel, Minot, ND Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND.
