Muriel J. McIntosh, 86, Minot, formerly of Donnybrook, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 in a Minot hospital.

Muriel Olson was born on August 7, 1920, in Baldwin, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Blanche (Jacobsen) Olson. As a small child she moved to North Dakota with her family. She attended school in Donnybrook, ND.

On September 19, 1940, she married Kenneth McIntosh in Plentywood, MT. The couple built a home on a farmstead near Donnybrook, ND and moved there on Thanksgiving Day, 1941. In 1968, the couple moved to Donnybrook where Muriel was a cook at the Donnybrook School for several years. Ken and Muriel moved to Minot in 1999. Kenneth died June 8, 2002. Muriel moved into Brentmoor in February of 2006.

Muriel was a member of the United Methodist Church of Donnybrook. She loved her flower gardens and won many Blue Ribbons for her ceramics. Muriel spent many happy hours quilting, crocheting and doing needle point work. As a grandma she always had a sweet treat for the grandkids.

Survivors: Daughters: Jeanette (Lewis) Gates, Minot, Betty (Lowell) Myers, Carpio, ND, Elayn (Stephen) Cook, Grand Forks, ND, Sheila (Jay) McCabe, Benton, TN: fourteen grandchildren: Robert Blatnick, Jacob Gates, Tiffany (Jason) Zablotney, Deanna (Chad) Christensen, Angela (Manville) Sanderson, David Gates, Scott (Staci) Myers, Melissa (Jim) Burud, Tracy (Byron) Evanson, Stephanie (Erik) Alston, Stephen (Karin) Cook II, Dwayne (Stephanie) Cook, Kenneth Thompson, Christopher Thompson; 17 great-grandchildren: Tyler Dipple, Sienna and Sterling Zablotney, Garrett, Wyatt Christiansen, Alexis Sanderson, Kylea, Jordyn and Tayler Myers, Grace Carrie and Justin Burud, Lane Evanson, Matthew and Kaitlyn Cook, Kenna, Nicholas, and Ayla Alston.
sister, Maggie Powell, Portland, OR; sisters-in-law, Edith Stroklund, Kenmare and Myrtle (Edward) Foster, Minnesota; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McIntosh; her parents Arthur and Blanche Olson; stepfather, Michael Schmalz; sisters, Ruby and Marion, and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.

Visitation: Monday, March 19, 2007 from noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
