Mary Ann Kathryn (Mahowald) McDonald, 64, 1901 Burdick Expy. East, Minot, ND, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at her home.

She was born on May 30, 1941, in Garrison, ND, the daughter of Otto and Kathryn (Blakesly) Mahowald. She was raised and educated in the Garrison area until she moved to Minot.

Upon moving to Minot, she met and married Thomas McDonald Jr. on January 16, 1962. They moved to San Bernadino, CA, where Mary Ann was employed for many years by Saint Bernadine's Hospital.

In 1981, she moved back to the Minot with her family, where she resided until the time of her death. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Trinity Homes where she just celebrated 25 years of service. She was planning her official retirement in May of this year. 0..

Mary Ann was very dedicated to her job, her family and her friends. She loved to attend auctions, flea markets and an occasional day of shopping. She truly loved her many days spent at antique shows with her best friend WanPen. Her greatest love of all was for her family. She doted on her grandkids and spent many hours cheering them on at sporting events, or just showing support for whatever direction their life had chosen. She took great pride in how she had raised her family and shared in their many successes. Mary Ann showed tremendous strength through her illness and most recent struggle with Cancer. We will all cherish the time we have been blessed in sharing with her, and will miss her deeply. She has been a blessing to all those lives she has touched.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Tom", Minot; daughter, Sandra (Bruce) Burner, Burlington; sons, Thomas III (Sherry) McDonald, Bismarck, ND, and Bradley McDonald, Minot; grandchildren, Ronnie Burner, Jeremy Burner, Amanda Ronglien, Craig Ronglien, Heather Ronglien, Travis Bruner, Brandon McDonald, Jason (April) Schmitt, Cory (Erika) Schmitt, and Brent Schmitt; three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Kathryn, brother, Gerald Mahowald, sister, Darlene Running, nephews, Ole Running and Kelly Running, great nephew, Brandon Nettleton and great nieces, Ashley Nettleton and Justess Pletcher.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 18, 2006, 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Burlington, ND.

Visitation: Monday, April 17, 2006, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial will take place on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot.

Memorials preferred to Trinity Homes, 305 8th Ave NE, Minot.
