Holmes F. McCormick, Jr., 87, Minot, ND, formerly of Pocono Pines, PA, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in a Garrison hospital.

Holmes Forrest “Mack” McCormick, Jr. was born on January 11, 1924, the son of Holmes Forrest McCormick, Sr. and Madeleine (McKee) McCormick, in Lewistown, PA.

Holmes was married to Allena “Ruth” South April 20, 1944, in Bristol, TN.

Surviving family includes:  wife, Ruth, Minot; daughters, Dee (Craig) Tischer, Minot; Dru (Michael) Petruzzi, Stroudsburg, PA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Foringer, Ocean Pines, MD; brother, Thomas (Sandy) McCormick, East Petersburg, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Holmes was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will take place in Pocono Pines, PA, at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to Alzheimer’s Association.
