Edith McConnell • 1913- 2006 Edith C. Sorensen was born April 22, 1913, the daughter of Viggo and Marie (Lauersen) Sorensen, in Kenmare, ND. She was raised and educated in Kenmare and graduated from Kenmare High School. Edith married Warren J. McConnell on August 15, 1943, in Kenmare. They made their home in Kenmare. Warren passed away on July 25, 1968. Following the death of her husband, she began employment at Kitty's Fashion. She worked there until retiring in 1984. She continued to reside in Kenmare until June of 1989, when she moved to the Good Samaritan Center, Mohall. She was a former member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, and a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood of Kenmare. Surviving family includes: daughters, Sheila (Dan) Fay, Astoria, OR, and their children, Cindy Fay, Shari (Shane) Walker, and Stefanie (Anthony) Reel; Kay McConnell, Minot; and Joan (Keith) Folkert, St. Paul, MN, and their children, Dan, Mike, Nathan and Erin (Matt) Clark; and one great-grandchild, William Walker. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Edith is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; granddaughters, Shelly and Mary Elizabeth Fay; sisters, Alice Nelson, Eline Bowman, Gladys Mace, and Evelyn Ringen. Memorial Service: Saturday, September 23, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at the Mohall Good Samaritan Center Chapel, Mohall, ND. Burial: Saturday at 4:00 pm at Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the book one hour prior to the service at the Good Samaritan Center, Mohall. Memorials are preferred to Good Samaritan Center, Mohall, ND.
