Ashley Marie Mazza 1987 - 2010

Ashley Mazza PhotoAshley Marie Mazza, 23, Garland, TX, died Monday, July 26, 2010 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Ashley was born on January 14, 1987, a daughter of Louis and Marie (Kjellberg) Mazza at Baylor Medical Center, in Dallas, TX. Ashley graduated from North Mesquite High School in 2005, where she was active in Honors Band, 1st Chair playing flute and color guard with the marching band. In 2009, Ashley graduated from University of Texas in Arlington with a BA in Marketing.

Ashley was currently working for PETSMART in Rockwall, TX. She was a lead care provider for fish, birds, reptiles and small animals. She was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mesquite, TX, participating in youth activities, mission trips, camp outs and lock-ins.

Ashley loved shopping, especially thrift stores and dollar stores. Her many joys in life included soccer, tap and ballet dancing and gymnastics. She was very creative and a perfectionist when working with needlework, latch hook and jewelry making. She had a variety of pets from rodents to reptiles, fish to dogs. Ashley adored all of God’s little creatures. Her infectious sense of humor gave her the gift of ease with friends of all ages. She will be greatly missed by her parents, family and friends.

Those who shared in her life:  Parents: Louis and Marie; step-brother: Jeff (Jennifer) Mazza; step-sister Lisa (Dan) Butler; two nieces and two nephews; maternal Grandmother Helen Kjellberg, Minot; several aunts, uncle and cousins also survive.

Ashley was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Nels Kjellberg and paternal grandparents Salvatore and Louise Mazza.

Visitation:  Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service:  Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 2 pm at First Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial:  Rosehill Memorial park, Minot

Memorials may be made to MADD, PETSMART Adoption partners, or Our Savior Lutheran Church Music Fund in Mesquite, TX.
