Jerome C. Mayer 1937 - 2004

Jerome C. Mayer, 66, 10445 48th Ave NW, Sherwood, ND, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.

Jerome was born December 2, 1937, at the Kenmare Deaconess Hospital, Kenmare ND, a twin son to John J. and Katherine (Grengs) Mayer. He grew up in Prosperity Township and attended Sherwood High School.

He married the love of his life, Patsy Henderson on June 14, 1955. He worked as a farm hand, owned semi's and worked 35 years in the oil fields, and was also a pumper/gauger for Gypsy Highview Oil Company.

He loved raising livestock, gardening, country music, having good times, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He was so proud of his five daughters and their families.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Patsy, Sherwood; his daughters, Paula (Bruce) Sheltrown, Monterey, CA, Pam (Rod) Lee, Blaine, MN, Patty (Kenny) Jensen, Tioga, ND, Sheila (David) Derr, Lee's Summit, MO, Katie (Terry) Soderberg, Minot, ND; seven grandchildren, Kris Lee and her husband, Jeremy Lewandowski, Rich Lee, Jason Jensen and his fiance, Shawna Jaeger, Sara Jensen, Adam Derr, Tony Soderberg and Beth Soderberg; brother, John Mayer, Minot; sister, Adelaide (Larry) Hagstrom, Mohall, ND; brother-in-law, Robert Walker, Mohall; sister-in-law, Gloria Mayer, Sherwood, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Jerome was preceded in death by two sons, his parents; brothers, Donald and Hank Mayer, and sister, Maxine Walker.

Memorial Service: Saturday, May 1, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a register book on Friday, April 30, 2004 from 9 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Jerome has been cremated and his ashes will be cast over his 10 acres he loved so much.
