Nancy Jane Mattson 1936 - 2004 Nancy Jane Mattson, 67, 203 18th St. SE, Minot, died Monday, March 1, 2004, in a Minot hospital. She was born December 10, 1936, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Kenneth and Olive (Crocker) Hughes. She was raised in Michigan and attended school there, graduating from Muskegon high School in 1954. On February 3, 1956, she married her childhood friend, C. Jack Mattson. They moved to Minot in February of 1977, where Nancy was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital for 20 years. After she retired, she started her own business, "Nancy's Pantry." Nancy loved all of her family and friends with boundless enthusiasm. She loved to spend time with family and friends at their family cabin at Rice Lake. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, St. Joseph's Auxiliary and was an associate of the Sisters of St. Francis, all of Minot. Survivors: husband, C. Jack Mattson, Minot; three sons, Kenneth John Mattson and friend, Nancy Swartz, Martin James Mattson, and Michael Hughes Mattson and his wife, Holly, all of Minot; daughter, Penny Jo Mattson and her husband Robert Solar, Minot; grandchildren, Katy Solar, Chris Solar, Adam Solar, Valorie Mattson, Adriana Sentana, Joseph Mattson, Billy Day and Taylor Day; brother, James Hughes, Chapmansboro, Tennessee; puppies and grand-puppies, Leo, Cubby, Brittney, Bailey, Sandi, Cramer and Sophie and grand-cat, Patches. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eleanor Burkall. Memorial Service: Friday, 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, Minot. Cremation has taken place.
