Margaret "Margie" Eleanor Mathwich PhotoMargaret "Margie" Eleanor Mathwich, 83, Mohall, formerly of Glenburn, died Friday, February 1, 2008 in a Mohall Nursing Home.

Margaret Boettger, was born on March 2, 1924, in Waterford Township, rural Glenburn, Ward County, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Ermantrout) Boettger, the oldest of five children. She was reared and educated in Tatman Township and became a member of God's Kingdom of grace by virtue of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church. She attended schools in the area. She married Kurt Mathwich on June 5, 1945, at Lynch Immanuel with Pastor Schmidtke performing the ceremony. They farmed on the Mathwich farm their entire married lives and lived on that farm in Tatman Township. Her beloved husband, Kurt died on August 12, 1988. She continued to live on the farm until January of 2004, when she moved into Brentmoor of Minot Assisted Living. In July of that same year, she moved into the Good Samaritan Society of Mohall, where she lived until her death.

To the Mathwich's marriage the Lord granted the gift of six children, all who survive. Sons, Gary (Helen) Mathwich, Havre, MT, Kenneth Mathwich, Bailey, CO and Mark ( Kimberly) Mathwich, Minot and daughters, Linda Hill, Burlington, ND, Marilyn (Gaylord) Schilling, Fargo, ND and Susan (Craig) Miller, Omaha, NE.

Margie Mathwich gave evidence of her faith in Christ by being active in the work of her church Lynch Immanuel by singing in the church choir and being a member of the LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League.) She was also a member of a homemakers group, a 4-H leader, bowled with her husband in a couples league and also a ladies league, knitted and was an avid gardener.

The Lord took Margaret Mathwich to himself in heaven to become a member of the church triumphant on the evening of February 1, 2008. Margaret Mathwich obtained the age of 83 years, 10 months, and 30 days.

Besides her children, Margaret Mathwich is survived by 10 grandchildren, Sarah (John) Elkins, Samuel Mathwich, Kristy (John) Hendrickson, Gregory (Patricia) Schilling, Kurt Miller, Daniel Miller, Jordynn Miller, Elizabeth Eckert, Miranda Eckert and Tyrel Mathwich; four great-grandchildren, Gracie Schilling, Hattie Hendrickson, Sadie Hendrickson and Alexia Elkins; sisters, Claire (Raymond) Odegard, Fargo, Laura "Caroline" Medenwaldt, Fergus Falls, MN and Marie (Paul) Etterman, Fargo; three sisters-in-law along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Kevin Hill, great-grandchildren, Maggie and Tate Schilling and a brother, John Boettger.

Funeral Services: Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Glenburn on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m.

Burial: Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cemetery, rural Glenburn.

Visitation: Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the Good Samaritan Society of Mohall.
