Allen K. Martin, 76, Kenmare, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in a Jamestown hospital.

Allen was born on August 23, 1931, the son of Royal and Anna (Ekstrom) Martin in Coteau, ND. He was raised and educated in the Coteau and Bowbells area. He attended Minot State Business College.

Allen lived in Louisiana, Bowbells and Kenmare, ND. He worked for a time as an oil rig driller. He was the owner/operator of Martin Standard. He also worked as an auto and machinery salesman all in Kenmare.

His passion in life was the outdoors, hunting, fishing and looking for arrowheads. Allen enjoyed studying life history, especially Native American history and war history. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing for his enjoyment.

He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church, fire department, Lions club, commercial club, American legion and the school board, all of Kenmare.

Allen's family includes: Wife Carolyn, Kenmare, ND; sons: David (Debbie) Martin, Fargo, ND; Douglas (Linda) Martin, Devils Lake, ND; Dennis (Peggy) Martin, Minneapolis, MN; brothers: Wesley (Donna) Martin, Des Moines, WA; Ronald (Joan) Martin, Des Moines, WA; Laurie (Mary Lou) Martin, Mohall, ND; Robert (Charlotte) Martin, Shelton, WA; sisters: Marlene (James) Teman, Soap Lake, WA; Kathleen Unmuth, Bellevue, WA, brother-in-law: David Neubauer, Mohall, ND; five grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Lindsey, Maggie and John. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Carol Farankph, and infant son, sisters Shirley Neubauer, Eula Lunstad and Sharon Martin.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a register on Saturday, November 3, 2007 one hour prior to service time.

Memorial Service: Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, ND.

Burial: A private family burial will take place

Memorials are preferred to the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Nazareth Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Kenmare Fire Department or donor's choice.
