Veronica Marquart 1928 - 2011 Veronica Volk was born January 13, 1928, a daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Jaciwice) Volk, in Karlsruhe, ND. She was raised on the family farm located 11 miles east of Karlsruhe and educated at a country school in the area. Veronica married Anton “Tony” Marquart February 3, 1953, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. They made their home in Karlsruhe until 1954, when they moved to Granville. They resided there until 1963, when they moved to Norwich. They returned to Granville in 1980. Tony passed away April 24, 1992. Following continued to reside in Granville, where she remained active in the community and with the Granville Senior Citizen Center. In 1993, she moved to Minot, where she lived with her son, Mike, and his family. She resided there until the fall of 1994, when she moved to Good Samaritan Nursing Home in New Town. In the fall of 1997, she moved to Trinity Nursing Home, where she had resided since. She was a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe, and member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Granville. She enjoyed taking walks, playing cards, and reading. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving family includes: sons, Mike (Barbara) Marquart, Minot, Pius (Pam) Marquart, Wahpeton, Allen Marquart, Bismarck; daughter, Barbara (LeRoy) Zacher, Yuma, AZ;
