Robert "Bob" Mahoney • 1926 - 2010

Bob Mahoney, 83, Minot, ND, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Robert Francis “Bob” Mahoney was born June 7, 1926, a son of Daniel and Lois (Ross) Mahoney, in Minot, ND. He was raised in Minot and attended Logan School. He graduated from Minot High School in 1944.

Bob married Joan O. Erb July 1, 1949, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot. They made their home in Minot, where he had worked for Bridgeman Creamery for 16 years. They then moved to Plaza for a short time before moving to Parshall, ND, where he had owned and operated Standard Oil for 30 years. He then managed the Redwood Lounge in Parshall for 7 years. Following their retirement, they moved back to Minot in 1993.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool, feeding the geese and squirrels at Roosevelt and Oak Parks, and spending time with family.

His loving family includes: wife of 60 years, Joan, Minot; children, Daniel (Nancy) Mahoney, Minot, Renee (Gerald) Zerr, Minot, Darla (Mike) Butler, Tampa, FL, and Colleen Weston, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Heather Mahoney, Jennifer (Jeff) Forbes, Robert Mahoney, Tylo Mahoney, Alexis Getzlaff, and Alaynee Thompson; Amy (Darin) Benno, Cory Grosche, Tara (Joned) Hanneman, Anissa Minear, and Miranda (Brad) Labrecque; Joseph (Heather) Butler, and Justin Butler; and Christa Pfeninger, Lacey (John) Scott, Alex Weston and Nicholas Weston;
great-grandchildren, Kyle Forbes; Brynley and Cambrey Benno; Allyson Grosche, Carissa Bratvold, Logan Hanneman, Tristan Dehorty, Landon Labrecque, and Wesley Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Mahoney; and sister, Sharon Schlag.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Friday at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: are preferred to an organization of the donor’s choice.
