Barbara Mack 1911 - 2004

Barbara Mack, 92, Velva, formerly of Minot, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at a Velva nursing home.

Barbara was born on October 12, 1911, in Fundahl, ND, south of Berwick, the daughter of Mathais and Eva (Fiest) Bachmeier. She attended rural school in the area before returning to the family farm.

She married Fred Kriedeman in the late 1920's. Fred died in February of 1936.

On April 14, 1942 she married George Mack in Drake, ND. They farmed north of Drake, where she helped out with the day to day operations of the farm. They then moved to a farm south of Anamoose.

In the fall of 1951, Barbara, George and the family moved to Minot. While in Minot, Barbara worked for the LeLand Parker Hotel, the Eagles, and Trinity Hospital. She moved to the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva in the spring of 1995.

Barbara was well known for her sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to help people in need.

Barbara was a devout member of St. Leos Catholic Church, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Minot.

Survivors: sons, Carl (Terry) Kriedeman, Seattle, WA; Clarence Kreideman, Velva, ND; Robert (Donna) Mack, Homer AK; daughter, Eva (Joe C.) Keller, Harvey, ND. 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by: her husbands, parents, daughter-in-law Shirley Kriedeman, seven brothers and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, October 9, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Friday, October 8, 2004, at 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: Friday, October 8, 2004, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
