Ruth Mary Lynch 1936 - 2004

Ruth Mary Lynch, 68, Minot, died Friday, September 3, 2004, at her home of natural causes.

She was born on March 3, 1936, in Barnesville, MN, the daughter of George and Mabel (Farrel) Lynch. She attended Assumption Grade School and in 1955, graduated from Barnesville High School.

Ruth entered the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, of Little Falls, MN on October 15, 1955. She spent four years in Formation and in 1959; she attended St. Catherine's College in St. Paul, MN, for one year. Later she went into nurses training at St. Francis School of Nursing in Breckenridge, MN. Following graduation she worked in hospitals and nursing homes in various cities in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

In 1976, Ruth left Religious Life and went to work in St. Paul at the Episcopal Church Home. In 1977, Ruth moved to Minot and worked as a nurse until 1987, when she retired. She spent 13 years as a Site Manager for Meals on Wheels and Home Delivered Meals in Minot. Since 2000, Ruth provided home health care to the elderly.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, in Minot where she was a lay minister, and active with the church choir and pastoral care.

Survivors: sister, Nancy (Edward) Kava, Barnesville, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Thomas Lynch, and nephew, Chuck Kava.

Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, September 9, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: Wednesday, September 8, 2004, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot

Prayer Service with Recitation of the Holy Rosary: Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
