Loran Lux 19 - 2009 Loran Edward Lux was born April 26, 1926, a son of Archie Chapen Lux and Margaret Ellen (McNeil) Lux, on the family homestead near Marion, Michigan. He was raised on the farmstead and educated in Flint, Michigan. Loran enlisted in the United States Navy April 26, 1944, and proudly served his country during WWII. He was awarded the American Area Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon, Phillipine Liberation Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon. He was honorably discharged June 6, 1946. Loran married Mariann Boechler April 9, 1947, in Karlsruhe, ND. They made their home in Minot where they managed a restaurant and he worked as a master carpenter. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, working puzzles, cutting trees, time with family and grandchildren. Mariann was an excellent cook and Loran enjoyed a good meal. Surviving family includes: wife of 62 years, Mariann, Minot; sons, David Lux, Jamestown, ND, Joseph Lux, Toledo, Iowa, and Archie (Joanne) Lux, Robinson, ND, daughters, Elizabeth Bayramian, Bozeman, MT, and Marie Swinford, New Castle, KY; grandchildren, Jenny Swinford, Anita Davis, Edith Harris, Rebecca (Joe) King, Andrew (Laurie) Bayramian, Peter Bayramian, Jessica (Jared) Bayramian-Byerly, Rosanna Bayramian, and Michael Bayramian, Amanda Lux, Mark Lux, Kerry Statczny, and Jason Lux; great-grandchildren, Raymond Taylor, Jameson Lux, Reeda Harris, Brandon Davis, and Danny Dale Davis; brother, Archie Lux, North Bend, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Loran was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Mark, Patrick, and Roger Lux; son-in-law, Ron Bayramian; and twelve brothers and sisters.
