Marvin Russel Lund 1921 - 2003 Marvin Russel Lund, 82, 1709 6th St SW, Minot, ND, died Sunday, December 7, 2003, at his residence. He was born on October 17, 1921, in Starbuck, MN, the son of Oscar and Martha (Mickelson) Lund. Marvin was raised in Glenwood, MN, where he worked on the family farmstead. On August 31, 1942, Marvin entered the United States Army Corps serving during World War II with the 522nd Air Services Group Signal Corps. On November 23, 1945, Marvin was honorably discharged. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Morley on November 17, 1949, in Webster, SD. The couple lived in Morris, MN until the spring of 1956, when they moved to Minot. Marvin was employed at the Minot Public Schools System as a painter and he retired in 1984. Elizabeth died on April 10, 1983 in Minot. Marvin enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading and music. Survivors: daughter, Nanette Lund, Minot; brother, Norval Lund, Glenwood, MN; granddaughter, Stacie Lund, Minot and great-grandson, Braydon Lund and several nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, his parents, brothers, Oliver and Burdeen Lund and sister Margaret Huizinga. Funeral Service: Thursday, December 12, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. Visitation: Wednesday, December 11, 2003, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Honorary Bearers: Marvin's family and friends
