Kledyeth Lund 1920 - 2008 Kledyeth Marvin Lund was born November 12, 1920, a son of Arthur L. and Sarah (Johnson) Lund on a farm near Northgate. He was raised on the farm and educated at Northgate, graduating from Northgate High School. Kledyeth enlisted in the United States Navy October 10, 1942. He spent most of that time in the South Pacific during WWII. He was honorably discharged November 4, 1945. Following his discharge from the Navy, he returned to North Dakota. Kledyeth was married to Eileen M. Strand November 14, 1942. They made their home on a farm east of Portal, where he farmed until the age of 70. Eileen passed away November 3, 1998. He was a member of the Flaxton American Legion Post # 0161. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and baking, especially lefse and his donuts. He and his best friend, Harold, both loved to spend a lot of time tinkering and fixing things. Kledyeth could make anything run. He was the jack of all trades. Surviving family includes: daughters, Cheryl (James) MacKenzie, Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, Linda (Larry) Walsh, Parshall, ND, and Christine Nickle (Brett Halvorson), Flaxton, ND; grandchildren, Teresa Hengen, Shane MacKenzie, Brian Walsh, Laurie Cerveny, Danelle Dyke, Michelle Baker, Denise Peterson, and Heather Eide; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Kledyeth was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen; grandson, Ryan James MacKenzie, brothers, Gaylen and Gaylord Lund (who were twins); sister, Ardis Lumsden; brothers-in-law, John Lumsden, Mark Strand, Ivan Strand, Earl Strand; father-in-law, Olaf Strand; and mother-in-law, Marie Strand.
