Elizabeth Sylvia “Betty” Moe, was born on October 14, 1926, a daughter of Otto and Emma (Runeye) Moe in Tioga, ND. At the age of six, she was fostered by Paul and Olga Svenstad, also of Tioga. She returned home when her father regained his health. She graduated Valedictorian of her class.

Betty met Robert Luetzen while working at a café in Tioga. While Robert was stationed at Great Rock Air Field, Betty and Robert were united in marriage in St. John's Kansas. They returned to North Dakota, settling in Minot. Betty and Robert began the task of raising the couples seven children and building their home in NW Minot. Robert died in 1984. Betty continued to maintain her home, assist and support her family and friends until 2007, when due to ill health she entered the Good Samaritan Center in Mohall, ND.

A friend to all she knew, a beloved mother, she was devoted to taking care of others late into her 70’s. Betty enjoyed traveling, gardening and baking with her grandchildren. Betty was a lifelong member of St. Marks Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Good Sam RV Club and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Grandchildren: Sharla, Royce, Corie, Chris, Jessie, Billy, Aaron, Jay, Jennifer, Dawn, Stuart, Savannah, Robert, Tanya, Toshia, Jeremy, Eric, Sarah, John, Angel and Cassie; 23 Great-grandchildren: sister: Gladys Pederson, Minot, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Emma, foster parents Paul and Olga Svenstad, husband Robert, brothers Elmer, Clarence, Arnold, Russel, Herman, Joseph, Leland, Maynard, Willard, Burnette, Donald, Lester, Leland and Melvin, sisters Hazel Moe, Pearl Jorstad, Myrtle Norton, Helen Fjelds and Cynthia Moe.

Visitation:  Friday, February 5, 2010 from 1-7 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service:  Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11 am at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial:  Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot

Officiant: Rev. Carlyle Roth, Pastor of the Church
