Goldie Jane Longie 1954 - 2005 Goldie Jane Longie, 51, 310 2nd St SE, Minot, died Sunday, July 3, 2005, in a Minot hospital. She was born on May 17, 1954, in Garrison, ND, the daughter of Anton and Viola (Schmitcke) Fix. She was raised and educated in Garrison. She worked at the Garrison Hospital before moving to Minot. In Minot she worked at a couple of bars and a few other jobs until she was disabled. Goldie like to play hand held games, pool, Bingo, and card games before her eyesight went bad. She loved to go fishing and her favorite singers were Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Toby Keith, but she liked all old time country music. Goldie was a member of the DAVA, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Survivors: sons, Sherman Whorley Jr., Bismarck, ND and Marty Whorley, sister, Shirley Poitra, Garrison, brother, Robert (Sharon) Fix, Minot; special friend, Vernon Jenson, Minot, and numerous nieces and nephews. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Viola Fix, sister, Virginia Poitra, brothers, Larry Fix and three infant brothers. Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, July 7, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot Visitation: Today, Wednesday, July 6, 2005, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Vigil Prayer Service: Tonight, Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
