Inez Alma Swenson Ljunggren, 84, Minot, ND, died Friday, February 9, 2007, in a Minot nursing home.

Inez was born on October 28, 1922, in Bowbells, ND, the daughter of Nels and Gertrude (Hanson) Jensen. She was reared in Bowbells and attended school in Flaxton, Northgate and later graduated in 1941 from Flaxton High School. After graduation, Inez attended college in Bottineau, ND.

She married Willard Swenson on June 25, 1944, in Tolley, ND. The couple purchased Willard's grandfathers homestead (the Ferm homestead) near Bowbells where they farmed and raised their three children. Inez also worked at the Country Boy Truck Stop in Bowbells. Due to Willard's ill health, the couple retired from farming in 1965 and moved to Minot, ND. In 1966, Inez went to work at Minot State College in the Student Union Cafeteria where she worked for over 12 years. She also worked as a Secretary for the Aide Association for Lutherans in Minot. Willard died on November 27, 1973. Inez continued to live in Minot and was later married to Ralph Ljunggren who passed away.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Moose Lodge, Royal Neighbors, and the Minot Senior Citizens Center. Inez was a charter member of the Lakeside Homemakers Club in Bowbells and the RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) Organization. She was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bowbells where she was also active with the Ladies Aide.

Inez was active in 4-H as a youth. She loved to write poems and songs, draw and aspired to be an English teacher.

John "Chub") Osborne, Cambridge, MN and Doris (Patty) Dixon, Schulenburg, TX; aunt, Mary Jensen, Bismarck; sisters-in-law, Alvina Swenson, Portal, ND and Adaire Swenson, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends and caregivers, Trudy Ness, Marlene Short and Candy Linder; her favorite chauffer, Paul Pearson, Minot. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Carl Swenson, her parents and sister, Evelyn Burke.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bowbells.

Visitation: Tuesday, February 13,2 007, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial: Bowbells Community Cemetery, Bowbells, ND

Memorial preferred to the Bowbells Community Cemetery.
