Therese Little PhotoTherese Little, 88, Minot, ND, died Monday, December 12, 2011, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Therese Ione Almera Gudmunson was born January 27, 1923, a daughter of George and Amanda (Aamot) Gudmunson in Makoti, ND. She was raised and educated in Makoti, and graduated from Makoti High School in 1941.

Following her high school graduation, she attended Minot State Teachers College, where she received her standard teaching certificate. Therese had taught school in Flaxton for one year, Parshall for two years, and Wilton for one year.

Therese then attended the Trinity Hospital School of Nursing, where she received her degree in Nursing in 1950. She began her career as a registered nurse at Trinity Hospital and later was employed at Trinity Nursing Home in Minot.

Therese married John W. Little May 27, 1961, at Minot Air Force Base. They made their home in Minot, where she worked as a RN for over 30 years. John passed away April 27, 1998.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Minot.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and had a strong love for her dogs, Suzie. She also enjoyed oil painting until her eye sight got too poor due to glaucoma.

Surviving family includes:  nieces and nephews, Margaret (Clayton) Boots, Underwood, ND, Myron Huettle, Fargo, Nina (Jack) Mayo, Boston, MA, Harold Vannett, Minot, Sheldon (JoAnn) Gudmunson, Minot, and Sandra (Joe) Cottrell, Vista, CA.

Therese was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Duane, Lyman, Winston, and Orlien Gudmunson; and sisters, Grace Gudmunson, Viola Huettle, and Harriet Vannett; two infant siblings; and a niece, Frances Currie.

Funeral: Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.

Interment:
  Saturday at 3:00 pm at Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Makoti, ND.

Visitation: 
Friday from noon to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
