James LeRoy Linster 1944 - 2003

James LeRoy Linster, 59, 31700 30th Ave NW, Berthold, died Monday, October 20, 2003 in a Stanley hospital.

He was born May 21, 1944, in Seattle, WA, the son of LeRoy J. and Helga O. (Jensen) Linster. At a young age James moved to Berthold with his parents where he was reared and educated. He graduated from Berthold High School in 1962. After graduation he attended mechanics school at the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.

He married Linda Burk in April of 1967, in Redmond, OR. The couple made their home in Berthold where James farmed the family homestead. He retired from farming in 1991, and worked on various construction jobs up until the time of his death.

James was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Lions, and the American Legion, all of Berthold.

Survivors: wife, Linda, Berthold; sons, Kelly Linster (Kim), Willmar, MN, and Kory Linster (Lezlie), Rapid City, SD; daughters, Kerry Linster, Atlanta, GA, and Kandra Ankney (Shawn), Sheridan, WY; five grandchildren, Elena, Raegan, Alex, Wyatt and Brayton; sister, JoAnn Shade (Harlind), Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, October 24, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Berthold.

Visitation: Thursday, October 23, 2003 from noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Rosary Recitation and Prayer Service: Thursday, October 23, 2003 at 7 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Berthold.

Burial: Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold, ND.
