Marget Avilda Lee Linnertz 1910 - 2010 Marget was born April 6, 1910 to Hans E. Lee and Bertha Mork Lee on the family farm in Twin Butte Township, Divide County, North Dakota. She attended rural Divide County schools. In 1920 the family moved to Crosby, where her family operated a paint supply store and painted many buildings in the area. Marget graduated from Crosby High School in 1930. She moved to Minot in 1931, where she was employed as a housekeeper by several families. In 1934 she married William Linnertz. William worked for the North Dakota Highway Dept. Marget worked at the Minot State University library. In 1941 the family moved to Columbus, ND, where William worked for Miller Hardware and, in 1942, the family returned to Minot where William worked for the International Harvester Co. and later for Harrington Bros. In 1950 Bill and Marget moved to Surrey. In 1960 she became the head cook at Surrey School. In 1965 Bill and Marget retired and did some travelling. Bill died in 1976. Marget remained in her home until 1990, at which time she moved to Minot to live with her daughter Glenda. In 2000 she moved to the Patterson Place Apts. in Bismarck and in 2005 she moved to the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Marget is survived by her sister Inga Graupe, Saskatoon, Sask.; her children Stanley (Nancy) Linnertz, Berthoud, CO; Joseph (Irish) Linnertz, Bismarck; Glenda (Bruce) Lovdahl ,Tioga and David (Nora) Linnertz, Battlement Mesa, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren Terry Berry, Sheldon Berry Todd Linnertz, Brett Linnertz, Derik Linnertz and Staci Linnertz McGruder and step grandchildren Anni Linden Michael Linden, Brian Lovdahl and Annette Lovdahl Haakenson. She is also survived by six great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents and her sisters Ragna Asleson, and Elise Quale and her brothers Christian, Otto, Elmer, Harold, Melvin and step-grandson Michael Lovdahl. Marget loved to read, make quilts, bake and care for the children of Surrey. She was loved by all and her survival through adversity was an inspiration for everyone. She was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot and Hope Lutheran Church in Surrey.
