Louise Linnertz 1919 - 2008
Louise
Linnertz, 89, Minot died Thursday, November 20, 2008 in a Minot
nursing home.
Louise Schumacher was born on September 19, 1919, the third
child of Nicholas and Katherine (Gieslinger) Schumacher, on the
family farm near Kenmare, ND. She was confirmed at St. Agnes
Catholic Church, Kenmare and graduated from Kenmare High School
in 1938. Following graduation, she worked for the Kenmare Hospital
as a nurse's aid.
On October 14, 1943, she moved into Minot, where she lived at
the Henry Frost residence. This would be where she would meet
her future husband, James Linnertz. They were united in marriage
on April 21, 1947. They had four sons, James, Richard, Thomas
and Daniel. Louise would spend the next 16 years as a mother
and homemaker.
In 1964, she began working for Josephine's draperies of Minot.
She then worked for Voeller's Draperies in downtown Minot for
several years. On her 75th birthday, she hung up her drapery
needles and retired. On January 17, 2004, James died and in 2004
she moved to Edgewood Vista.
Louise enjoyed knitting, playing card, fishing and working with
her indoor house plants.
She was a charter member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot.
Louise is survived by: Sons James (Shirley) Linnertz,
West Fargo, ND, Richard (Cher) Linnertz, Peoria, AZ, Thomas (Donna)
Linnertz, Harwood, ND, and Daniel (Pam) Linnertz, Minot; three
grandsons, Michael (Jessica) Linnertz, West Fargo, Jeffrey (Chastity)
Linnertz, Grand Forks, Colton Linnertz, Durham, NC: seven grand
daughters: Janece (Trevor) Birch, Albert Lea, MN, Carman (John)Fors,
Las Vegas, NV, Tamara (Casey) Fromm, Phoenix, AZ, Denita Linnertz,
Chicago, IL, Connie Linnertz, Minneapolis, MN And Kelsey Linnertz,
Fargo, ND, Ashley Linnertz, Grand Forks, ND; great-grandchildren:
Solia and Anna Birch, Mason and Lucas Fors, Ellie and Sophia
Fromm, Emily and Logan Linnertz, and Devin Linnertz, sister Isabelle
Finken, Minot, brother George (Evelyn) Schumacher, Kenmare: numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband James, sister
Gertrude Smetana and brother Wilfred Schumacher.
Visitation: Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 3pm until 6
pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND

in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot, ND
Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, November 24, 2008 at
10:30 am at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot, ND

Following the graveside service everyone is invited to join the
family for lunch and fellowship at the Little Flower School gymnasium,
located directly south of the church.
The Linnertz family would like to thank everyone for the many
acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your
thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be
forgotten. May God bless the memory of Louise.
