Shirley L. Lind, 77, Minot, formerly of Roseglen, died Friday, April 27, 2007 in a Minot nursing home.

Shirley Lillian Young was born in Stanley ND, December 30, 1929, to William and Edna Young. She grew up in Wazetta Township, Mountrail County, and attended rural schools through the 8th grade.
The family moved to Parshall, North Dakota and Shirley graduated from Parshall High School in 1947. She attended Minot State College and worked for the Corp of Engineer's during the construction of the Garrison Dam in Riverdale.

Shortly thereafter, she met Art Lind and they were married on December 29, 1950. Art was a farmer, and together they lived, farmed, and started their family in the Deepwater Township Roseglen area. Shirley also worked in the White Shield School system for years as a librarian. She had many hobbies - her favorite being painting - which she did up to the time of her death. She loved oil painting, but became an avid watercolor painter in recent years. Many times her loved ones would become the recipients of her latest watercolor project. Shirley also loved flower gardens and quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Roseglen, ND.

She is survived by her six children: daughters, Colleen (Dale) Folven, Newtown; Kathy(Terry) Harder, Bismarck; Barb (Mark) Sauvageau, Minot; sons, Trent Lind, Jamestown; Robin Lind, Roseglen; and Gary (Racheal) Lind, Bismarck, grandchildren, Shane (Leslie) Hillman, Lindsey Hiliman, Ramey (John) Reeves, Shayna Harder, Lance (Kellie) Charging, Samantha, Alex and Josie Lind, Peyton and Parker Lind; step-grandchildren: Brandon Sauvageau, Brienne Sauvageau, Sarah Rismon; Abbey Reep;Kelsey Folven; great grandchildren, Ashton Hillman, Paige Holmes, Judah Reeves and Camden Reep; two sisters; Irene Sjol, Olympia, Washington; Beverly Pederson, Newtown; brother-in-law; Woodrow Overlie, Parshall; sisters-in-law, Sibyl Geiser, Minot; Debris Overlie, Parshall, Joan Young, LasVegas, NV, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Art Lind, parents William & Edna Young, brothers William Jr. and Dale Young.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation: is Monday, April 30, 2007, from Noon until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial at 2 p.m. at Parshall Cemetery, Parshall, ND

Memorials preferred to the Minot Homeless Coalition.
